Pathology Museum Visit
The Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine UM has a pathology museum that showcases a wide collection of specimens with common to rare pathology of the human body. Many disease pathologies from a variety of human systems are exhibited here. This museum is opened to all our medical students to better understand pathology and its presentation in the body.
Sphygmomanometer
The skill of blood pressure taking can be coined as the bread and butter in evaluating and screening a person's general health. This skill of using the sphygmomanometer and stethoscope will be demonstrated and concepts behind it will be elaborated during our workshop. The hands-on session will be available for all participants during the workshop!

Basic Life Support
What is the appropriate measure when responding to an emergency cardiac arrest incident in front of you? We will be introducing the concepts of Basic Life Support during the workshop. This session will feature the key concepts, demonstration and hands-on practice on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillator (AED).
Hearing Test

Did you get that right? Otorhinolaryngology is a medical specialty in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT). During PMS Workshop, we will be introducing the concepts behind Rinne test and Weber test as well as having hands-on sessions for you to try it out! These tests are the clinical examination skills for the test for hearing loss using the tuning fork.

University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) / Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya (PPUM) has just celebrated its Golden Jubilee, 50th Anniversary. UMMC advocates for providing the best possible patient care, at the same time, contributing to the education and training of future medical professionals. During the Pre-Medical Student Workshop, site visit to the hospital will provide participants with an idea on how clinical years teaching will be like. The site visit will also encompass an introduction to the services provided by the Department of Emergency Medicine in UMMC.
